Hallmark’s Channel’s latest offering for the world is Welcome to Mama’s which got released on 26 February 2022 and was directed by Allan Harmon. The movie plot revolves around a young woman, that is Amy who inherits an Italian restaurant after the owner, who is also a close friend of her’s dies unexpectedly. But the twist that the viewers will get is that the main female lead shall not only get the restaurant, but also a stubborn but a handsome chef. What happens between them? As already hinted above, Amy, who is also a restaurant manager inherits a restaurant in Brooklyn after Mama. Amy’s dear friend who was also the owner of this peppy popular unexpectedly passed away. Amy teams up with a good-looking chef with ego issues who goes by the name Frank; looking for a second chance.
The two decide to live up to the wish Mama had for this restaurant and perform it well by relaunching it for the community that loves not only the restaurant but Mama too. Despite the differences and continuous bickering between the two, that is Amy and Frank, both personally and professionally, they discover that the most important ingredient is Love.
Should You Stream It Or Skip It?
When it is about Love and Food, first of all, why is this question even here? Well, personal opinions aside, according to DigitalBinge, the movie has received the rating of 6/10. But at the same time has fair opinions and criticisms about it. The movie is directed in a beautiful manner wherein not only the aesthetics of food are explored well. But the chemistry between the two main leads is also put forward in a fair manner.
The writers of the movie, that is Willian Penick and Tyler Straessle have done a good job in articulating the feelings and emotions of the actors through their writing which is evident throughout the movie. If Romance is your genre, we’d say totally stream it! If not, we’d say probably skip it.
