It is layered with a nuanced plotline and is one of the best creations of Guillermo del Toro. The humor, heart, and horror blend into a compelling concoction that will move you.

The lab holds a water tank that holds captive a mysterious, aquatic creature. Elisa starts to harbor a newfound friendship and connect with the new friend. The language of communication and expression that the movie employs with insight and empathy is beautiful. However, her life is at the edge of a significant rupture when she discovers a horrific secret.

A mutual relationship and unlikely intimacy develop between the two, but things are complicated due to the creature’s identity, and stakes are high at the government lab. Watch The Shape of Water to immerse yourself in this beautiful, moving, romance-horror tale.
