The Format of the Competition
There were a few changes from the previous two seasons in terms of competition format. Children aged 9 to 14 from across the country will compete in three different age brackets (9 to 10 years old, 11 to 12 years old, and 13 to 14 years old). All 32 kids would be mentored by Najee Richardson and Jesse Labreck, two of the top competitors on American Ninja Warrior.
Competitors would race side-by-side on an obstacle course like Team Ninja Warrior and American Ninja Warrior: Ninja vs. Ninja. However, competitions on these two shows do not pit competitors against each other. Every age group had three rounds of competition. Winners from Round Two will compete in the Final Showdown.
As a result of the Final Showdown, the competitor who wins would advance to the next round of the competition, while the losing competitor would be eliminated. It was similar to the qualifiers in the quarterfinals, with seeding and knockout rounds taking place in the first two rounds.
The two winners of the Quarterfinal Showdown would battle to earn a place in the semifinals. Wildcards will once again play a part in the quarterfinal round this season, as the fastest eliminated ninjas will qualify.
