The Plot of American Rust

The series follows a man named Del Harris (Jeff Daniels), who is a chief cop by designation in the small Rust Belt town named Buell in Pennsylvania. The place has been in economic downfall with rampant usage of opioids (Del Harris including) and holds dark lies and secrets. Things go unpredictable when a dead body is discovered in the town, and the chief of police has to decide to what extent he might go in order to save the accused Billy (Alex Neustaedter).

He is a famous ex-high school football player. He happens to be the son of his love interest, Grace (Maira Tierney), a dressmaker with almost-on-the-verge of end marriage with Virgil (Mark Pellegrino) and deteriorating health conditions whose relationship with a cop has been on and off. The story would proceed as the conflict between professional and personal life will test Sheriff Del and reward his efforts.

Rob Yang Essays the Role of Steve Park

The murder mystery is hoped to raise curiosity among the viewers and engage the fans proportionally in the story. But critics so far seem to have fewer expectations from the thriller due to its predictable storyline and just decent cast acting. However, Jeff Daniel somehow pulls the character commendably, but it’s too soon to tell how the show would run.
