Crunchyroll is now adapting the webcomic that Warren Ellis and illustrations originally penned by Paul Duffield for making into an animated series set to release in 2022. Originally it isn’t a Japanese anime as it has a British source material but is set to opt for an anime-like animation to give it that authentic touch.
The comic was published way back in 2008 by Avatar Press and won the accolade in the category of Favorite Comic on the Web in Eagle Award and bagged the nomination for British Fantasy Award. Well, if you want to know what is FreakAngel all about and what to know before watching it, continue with this one!
What to Know About FreakAngels?
The premise of the anime, basically drawing inspiration from the comic, revolves around twelve psychics that are young and have the motive to protect the only remaining place of Whitechapel post the disastrous apocalypse even after six years of the incident as the rest of the known world had perished in the aftermath.
But the things will not be easy. Whitechapel will face danger from both outside creatures and that present within amidst the FreakAngels trying to stay together and build world peace. It will be interesting to watch how the heroes manage to save the remains from potential threats in this upcoming anime!
Who are All there in FreakAngels?
As of now, nothing certain is known about the characters in the anime. By considering the plot, we can fairly conclude that 12 young psychics from Whitechapel will be seen doing the lead roles of protecting the only habitable place available on earth amidst all the chaos that will ensue.
Other than this, nothing is known about other characters at this point, and a little wait has to be maintained to get some more information in this regard. Crunchyroll will soon inform us about the character names and actors voicing for them once the anime’s release date comes near.
When will FreakAngels Release?
Crunchyroll is set to air this anime on January 27, 2022, in almost two hundred territories. The anime will be available in a wide range of languages in the form of subtitles so that people around the globe can enjoy it. Thus, it is hoped that it performs equally well as the other anime’s by Crunchyroll. So if you are eager for this one, then don’t miss the date of it’s premiere!
Is there a Trailer for FreakAngels?
Yes, so far, the only trailer of the anime reveals how well the animation has been developed along with voice characterizations, leading to the conclusion that the next year’s release is somewhat certain and unlikely to get delayed.
However, the story will have an English voice for its characters, making it less of a true anime for some of the avid fans. Still, subtitles in various languages will make it much more accessible for different individuals and will make for an interesting watch.
