Shikizakura is a Japanese science fiction anime series with 12 episodes. The series follows an ordinary high school student, Kakeru Miwa, who gets pulled into a supernatural battle against evil and threatening Oni. He gets a powerful suit, Yoroi, which gives him immense strength to battle against Oni. He and his team are given a task to protect a shrine maiden, Oka Myojin, who is predicted to save the world.

What to Know Before Watching Anime Shikizakura Episode 9?
In the previous episode, Oka, Kippei and Kakeru are in the town taking pictures, and Oka could not pick up her phone due to low battery. Benio gets distressed and calls Ryo in panic. Meanwhile, in the town, the trio notices a red gem emerging from the ground. Kippei reveals that he knows about the gem and that it is a sign of a future alien invasion.
Ibara soothes the trio by telling that there is no Oni, but the gem is still a matter of concern. Ibara warns Kakeru that something ominous is on their way. Benio is teamed up with Ukon at Benio’s insistence, and the team protects Oka. Benio asks Ryo to stay in the team. Kakeru joins the team. Oka is feeling very sleepy, and later Ukon ponders whether she had inhaled the poisonous smell of Oni.
Benio and the team fight the monstrous Oni. They find that their opponent is attracted to them. Ryo has a heart-breaking discovery as he finds that his real mother died and the fake one is actually Oni. His father was brutally killed, and he vows to keep up and carry forward his family’s legacy.
