Those born in the 90s and early 2000 have all been lucky to have mind-blowing animated series in their childhood. Few of those masterpieces made it to the international platform and have been critically acclaimed. One such series is Avatar: The Last Airbender.
The show initially ran on The Nickelodeon from February 2005 – July 2008. It brought out remarkable 3 seasons during this time that gathered an audience all over the globe. It also brought a flop release in the 2010 live-action movie by M. Night Shyamalan.
About the Upcoming Remake by Netflix
Around a decade later, in 2018, Netflix asked for a remake of the live-action show. The remake wood brings in our huge list of actors from various backgrounds like Asian or Indigenous. Two noteworthy names in this list are of Daniel Dae Kim and Paul Sun-Hyung Lee, who play FirelordOzai and Uncle Iroh, respectively.

Netflix’s Avatar: The Last Airbender Remake Release Date: When will the Fans Finally Get to Watch it?
Sadly Netflix has not yet announced a release date for the Avatar: The Last Airbender remake. With the remake ordered three years back and the production previously set for 2019, the show’s release was delayed till 2020.
Even worse, due to the worldwide covid-19 pandemic, the show couldn’t hit the screens last year too. This November, in the third week, a public announcement was made regarding the production for the show, as it commences in Vancouver, Canada.
What is Avatar: The Last Airbender About?
The Airbender tribe has its last standing survivor Aang, an official Avatar. He is found frozen in ice, but the moment he gets his freedom, he must learn and gain expertise in all the four elements, namely – Air, Water, Earth and Fire, so that he is capable of beating Firelord Ozai. Taking assistance from the young water bender Katara and her brother Sokka, Aang must free the world from Firelord Ozai’s authoritarian power.
Avatar: The Last Airbender Cast and Characters: Who does Netflix Bring to the Show?
In the month of August, Netflix announced the main cast for the remake of the show. Gordon Cormier will be seen playing the lead role of Aang. Then there will also be Kiawentiio Tarbell in the role of Katara, with Ian Ousley portraying her brother Sokka. The famous actor from Marvel’s Shang-chi, Dalla Liu, will also be seen in the role of Prince Zuko.
Last month, Netflix declared the face behind Aang’s arch-nemesis FirelordOzai to be performed by Daniel Dae Kim. Also, Jeremy Zuckerman will come back to create the music. Exactly like the original movie, show creators Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, together known as Bryke, will sadly not be a part of this Netflix remake show. However, earlier in a public announcement by Netflix, it was made clear that the two will come back for the series.
