In a world where dating reality tv shows are thriving the most, a show about the struggles that people in the logging industry face was completely unexpected. “Big Timber” features a perfect blend of knowledgeable information and family dynamics. Although our civilization would still be writing on papyrus and stone without people who fell timber, the show reminds us of their importance and their profession’s straining.
Functioning on the beautiful Vancouver Island, Wenstob Timber Resources is one of few independent sawmill organizations. Kevin Wenstob and his family struggle to keep their family sawmill running and uphold their lifestyle. As the crew goes through deadly ordeals and risky adventures to provide premium quality cedar, the viewers stay amused by the complications of unfamiliar professions.
When Netflix picked up the show after it first aired on the HISTORY channel in 2020, it was a hit entering the top 10 tending list right away! Ten episodes worth of entertainment with a never been done before concept and a huge helping of educational discernment was bound to be successful. Many environmentalists believe the timber business to be problematic and harmful to the surrounding forests; sustainability and responsible logging is of utmost importance for any establishment.
Rumoured Release Date
Although an official announcement hasn’t been made, sources have reported that the show has been renewed for its second season. The first season was filmed in September 2019, and if the producers continue the trend of shooting in the fall months, we might expect the filming for the second season to take place in the fall of 2021. The highly awaited new season might be announced by September 2021 if filming begins soon and be on our screens by 2022.
Season 1 had been released right before Canada went under lockdown, and since the pandemic has halted production worldwide, we presume there might be a delay. The second season might also have about 8-10 episodes of 42 minutes each.
Expected Cast
We will see the big man Kevin Wenstob star in the new season. We will also see his partner in life and work alike, Sarah Fleming, a former nurse, as head of operations for Wenstob Resources. Kevin’s son Erik Wenstob will also reprise his role as a skilled mechanic. We might also see Coleman Wilner, a great friend, and the right-hand man.
Expected Storyline
Shows like Big Timber make us understand the story behind all those planks and paper we pick up so quickly from the nearest available hardware shops. During the finale of the first season, we witnessed the death of Grammy Jean. This means that a lot is going to change. But, all we can say is that this is not the end of the story. This being one of the most popular Netflix shows, we have our hopes high. Let’s wait and see what this season has in store for us.
Is the Trailer Out?
Nope, the trailer hasn’t been released yet. Once the filming and production of the series end, it would be reasonable to expect a trailer.
