Brazen is a crime thriller movie directed by Monica Mitchell. The movie premiered on January 13, 2022, on Netflix, but sadly it did not meet the expectation of the viewers. Brazen is a movie version of Nora Roberts’ novel Brazen Virtue, which follows Grace, a successful mystery author, as she deals with the death of her sibling Kathleen.
Grace enters the official inquiry to assist in uncovering the truth and ensuring Kathleen’s peace. The storyline follows further discovery about the case with little romance between the main characters. If you are wondering whether to watch this movie or not, read on to know further.
Analysis of the Movie

Brazen’s storyline is far beyond obvious, among several other shortcomings, and if you thought the combination of sensuality and crime might have worked wonderfully in respect of Roberts’ book’s film translation, it really doesn’t under any direction.
The movie starts on a somewhat exciting note, as we learn about Kathleen’s twin life as a schoolteacher and a web seductress early on. Still, the story becomes increasingly outdated in terms of the detective genre’s implementation as it proceeds.
In respect of acting, no one really pops out, especially given how mediocre the storyline and production are. It’s evident that the main cast is trying hard to stay to the plot, but it doesn’t assist anyone much. Grace Miller, played by Alyssa Milano, tries hard in order to make her personality stand out as intelligent. Still, the cringe statements she receives make it difficult for us to find her attractive.
There is No Chemistry Between the Main Characters
She’s a fiction author who says that her incredible profiling abilities make her invaluable assistance to any inquiry. The problem is that we don’t see any evidence of this until she’s analyzing the killer’s methods of leaving both corpses. However, she comes out as someone who just understands a few investigations jargon and has a basic understanding of police operations.
Basically, anyone who has seen a few murder crime dramas or true-crime programs knows what I’m talking about. The romance was also not up to the mark; kissing and sex scenes were only bonds between the characters.
Is the Movie Worth Watching?

Unfortunately, the movie is a total disaster in every sense. There isn’t a single part of the picture that shines or even performs a good job. As a result, there isn’t much to hold on to for great amusement as you watch this movie. It’s difficult to know where to analyze this film’s flaws since it’s so unsatisfactory.
There is no emotional attachment with anybody, the conversation is awful and formal, and the inquiry has no excitement. So, if you are looking to watch a good crime thriller or romance, this movie is really not worth watching to make your day.
Whether You Should Stream It or Skip It?
Several times during the film, the forced language makes the film unexpectedly humorous. It’s definitely at its funniest when you suspect the movie actor is taking this venture far more seriously than it is online. But, on the other hand, you’ll like it if you treat it as simply another badly written crime story that would be better as an escape room game.
As most of us are getting back into isolation because of the sudden rise of COVID-19 cases throughout the country, my recommendation is that you put Brazen on your playlist for the day when you’re too exhausted from the world’s worries and want to see something completely ridiculous that makes no sense but still good to watch. Then, you should stream it, or else definitely Skip it.
