Plot
The brutal pandemic has indeed been a curse to all, and no one can deny the fact. Releasing a drama based on a current incident certainly can have a severe impact upon the audience. The Help has excellently held up the current scenario. It shows how each and everyone’s life has changed, in some way or the other. The series revolves around a Liverpool care home and concentrates on the relation between Sarah, a worker, and Tony, a patient.
According to the official plot, Sarah is quick-witted yet fails to secure a place in education and the workplace. Her family also discourages her and tells her she is worthy of nothing. However, the situation changes for her when she can work as a carer staff at Sunshine Homes. Sarah can easily mix with people, and that becomes her well-known talent. She grows a bond with everybody in there, but with one she grows fond of, Tony.
Tony suffers from Young Onset Alzheimer’s disease. He annoys almost everyone, but with Sarah, he seems to get managed. These incidents of getting support from the patients also enable Sarah to know her worth. She also takes every measure to help the patients but gradually seems helpless when the situation worsens due to the pandemic.
Why Watch?
Care Homes got heavily affected due to the pandemic, and around 39,000 people died in the U.K within one year, that is 2020 to 2021. The workers, too, had to remain isolated and stayed away from their loved ones during this period. The drama is basically created to highlight the government’s inefficiency and do justice to the huge mass of people who died. Every single citizen of the U.K as well as of other nations can relate the situation with themselves.
