Chrono Cross is a video game based on roleplay that was first released way back in 1999. The game was created by Square for the Playstation console and was published by Square itself. Chrono Cross is set in the same setting that was there for Chrono Trigger, the 1995 released video game. Masato Kato, who is a director and scenarist designed the game alongside Yasunori Mitsuda and Yasuhuki Honne who were also associated with Chrono Trigger.
The character of the game is designed by Nobutero Yuki and the designer for the game is Hiromichi Tanaka. Chrono Cross received wide appreciation for the unique style it had and was also one the most famous games of that time. The game had a huge fan base and about 1.3 million copies of Chrono Cross were sold by 2003. However, rumor has it that the game is all set to return soon.

In October 2021, Mitsuda sparked the rumors about Chrono Cross being remastered by tweeting an old interview of Eabha McMahon, a famous singer who said that she along with Michael McGlynn and his daughter have recorded the Irish language based theme of Chrono Cross.
Even Nick Baker, the co-founder of the Xbox Era podcast hinted on the fact that it is no surprise that Chrono Cross is on the list of games that are supposed to get a remake by the Nvidia leak list. Baker also hinted upon the possibility that the game will not be exclusive to any one platform but rather will have a multi-platform function and that it is just his ‘assumption’. The fans have already started assuming the remaster will hit the screens soon.
When will Chrono Cross Remastered Version-Release?
As of now, there has been only speculations and rumours about the game being remastered and there has been no explicit or official confirmation from the side of the makers that the 1995 classic will get a remake or not. However, if the rumors stand out to be true, then the fans can expect a remake in the upcoming two to three years or sometime in the near future.
