What is the Series All About? And All Characters?

Code Geass Season 3

A Sunrise studio production, Code Geass, is set in an imagined Orwellian world where the power is distributed among the three superpowers: the Holy Britannian Empire, the Chinese Federation, and the European Union (also called Europa United).

The story revolves around the Eleventh Prince of the Britannian Empire, Lelouch vi Britannia (or Lelouch Lamperouge), who is an outcast prince. Lelouch is the son of the Britannian Emperor Charles zi Britannia and Marianne vi Britannia and the brother of Nunnally vi Britannia.

Lelouch becomes furious with his father when he does not take any action after his mother’s murder which was so tragic that his sister loses her sight and ability to walk. The plot begins in the year 2010 when Lelouch and Nunnally are sent on a diplomatic mission to Japan as political pawns.

The Plot of the Anime

Japan is attacked by robots that are known as ‘Knightmare Frames,’ starting an uncalled-for invasion. These robots obliterate the area, forcefully annexing it and naming it ‘Area 11’. Lelouch intends to fight the battle to get revenge against the wrong done.

Furthermore, he promises his friend Suzaku Kururugi to free Japan from tyrannical machinations. Lelouch is at Ashford Academy, Lelouch Lamperouge, and strategizes his way to overthrow the tyranny.

A mysterious girl called C.C. saves him from a hazardous situation when a Royal Britannian Guard. She also gives him Geass or the “Power of Kings,” which gives him the ability to command anyone he wants. After realizing the power bestowed upon him, Lelouch takes on a deadly journey as he masks himself as Zero to fulfill his vengeance against the Holy Britannian Empire.

First, however, he fights specific personal battles or mecha battles to save himself, throughout seasons, against the corrupting element of his newly gained power. Finally, he formed a radical ‘Black Knights’ group to free his empire.

As Lelouch goes deeper into his journey, various obstacles arise that deflect him or prevent him from making his win. He faces Suzaku Kururugi and his half-sibling along the way, trying to keep up the war against the empire.

Code Geass Verse: The Expansion

Studio Sunrise has a lot in its domain right now and is expanding the Code Geass universe. Besides the upcoming Code Geass movie, it has also announced a mobile game called Code Geass: Genesis Re; CODE. Yoshimitsu Ohashi has assumed the role of the directorial position, and Ichiro Okouchi will be the screenwriter, replacing the script Noboru Kimura wrote for the upcoming movie.

Code Geass’s popularity is because of various endearing elements within the franchise. It includes multiple exciting science fiction elements, the protagonist is not a soft play but has extraordinary strategic skills, and the visuals make it up to the mark.

While the third season is the new season. Not yet confirmed, you can keep track of the movie version of this hugely popular anime series. This essentially expands the Code Geass universe.

What to Expect in Code Geass Season 3?

The potential Season 3 might portray new challenges for Nunnally and Suzaku in maintaining peace in the Britannia Empire. The makers can also bring Lelouch back or resurrect him in some form with CC’s help. He would be a good foe for the current empress and her bodyguard. All of this is just speculation, and there is a possibility that the makers might surprise anime lovers.

Is Lelouch Vi Britannia Alive in Code Geass Season 3?

Suzaku executed the last season of the Code Geass, Lelouch, he disguised himself into Zero according to the plan called Zero Requiem. He frees the world from his tyrannical rule. Nunnally vi Britannia becomes the Empress of the Holy Empire of Britannia at the end of the series. If a third season does happen, it is unlikely that Lelouch will return.

Many anime lovers were unsatisfied with the ending and many unresolved character arcs, which season 2 left viewers with. Instead, they wanted more resolutions for their favorite characters.
