He says that he and another soldier were given the job to carry a message to the battalion, but his soldier friend was murdered during the time period. Gwyn didn’t find anyone as the group had already left.
Gwyn thought that he was saved, so he could invent time travel and go back and save everyone, but now he feels it’s a punishment as once again things are happening, but he can’t really change anything. The episode ended on an emotional note and made viewers swoon over it.
