If you wish to watch an animated series that is light and does not have too many concepts or complex ideas, Duncanville is one such show that I’d recommend you watch. The series shows how we think that teenage years are all about freedom and my life, my rules, but in reality, it’s just bills and responsibilities.
Duncanville – the animated sitcom series is in the discussion. Created by Mike Scully, Amy Poehler, and Julie Scully, the series is catered to the grownup audience of our society. Fox Entertainment first premiered the series in February 2020.
Release Date
Duncanville Season 3 release date is yet to be confirmed by the officials. The officials announced the renewal of the series for a season 3 even before the release of season 2. However, if things go smoothly, we can expect a season 3 by the year 2022 since the series has previously released one season per year. Duncanville has received an IMDb rating of 6.1. The series can be watched on the streaming platform Hulu. Viewers who wish to purchase the series can do so by purchasing on YouTube or iTunes.
Voice Cast and Characters
Amy Poehler is playing the character of Duncan and Annie, who is the mother of Duncan. Ty Burrell is seen playing Jack, Duncan’s dad. Riki Lindhome is playing Kimberly, the 12-year-old teenage sister of Duncan. Joy Osmanski is playing Jing, Duncan’s adopted Asian sister. Rashida Jones as Mia Abara, a girl on whom Duncan has a huge crush. Apart from these, we can find voices of Wiz Khalifa playing Mr. Mitch. Zach Cherry, Yassir Lester, and Betsy Sodaro play the role of Duncan’s friends – Wolf, Yangzi, and Bex, respectively.
Plot
The plot revolves around a teenage boy who is one step away from wrong decisions in life. Along with Duncan, we find the story revolving around his mother, who is a parking officer, his dad, who wishes to be everything to his kid that he didn’t receive as a child. We also see the lives of his 12 and 5 years old sisters, one who’s going through teenage stuff herself and another who is Asian and adopted.
Basically, it will show the lives of Duncan and his family going through the different phases in life. Apart from this, we see his crush and his friends Bex, Yangzi and Wolf, and Mr. Mitch, their cool teacher.
What do We Know So Far?
Up until now, we know that season three will be coming for sure. It may be delayed because of the pandemic, but it’s coming. We mostly will find the same voice cast since it’s a continuation. As of now, we don’t have more information on season 3.
The series has received a mixed review. Some viewers liked the storyline and the development of characters, and they found the series a fun watch, etc. On the other hand, some thought the story was very predictable, the humor wasn’t genuine, and they needed a lot of work on it. Some found the story frustrating and unnecessary, while some praised the series for highlighting the problems in one’s teenage life.
Since we can’t form our opinions based on other’s perspectives, I’d suggest we watch the show and judge it for ourselves.
