The four-part comedy specials by Dave Chappelle have recently dropped out on Netflix, also known as Chappelle’s Home Team. These specials feature comedians chosen by Chappelle where they intend to lighten up the mood of the viewers. For the first part, comedian Earthquake started out and it was for sure a hell of a set by the great comedian. With the first episode out on February 28th on Netflix, here is all you need to know before watching the stand-up.
First Episode Featuring Earthquake
Chappelle’s Home Team’s first episode featured the comedian Nathaniel Martin Stroman aka Earthquake. He takes up the stage and gives out an amazing performance just like how the title suggests “Earthquake”.
With the commentary starting with his topic of ‘health is wealth’, he moves on to talk about a less comfortable topic of prostate check-ups and then finally ends it with a common topic of disciplining kids. Within the 36 minutes episode filled with laughter and joy, he also was able to share a story about a celebrity funeral.
Who Is Earthquake?
Nathaniel Martin Stroman who is professionally known as ‘Earthquake’, is an American stand-up comedian, actor, and voice artist. Apart from the premiere he did on Chappelle’s show, he also hosts a radio show known as ‘Quakeshouse’ for SiriusXM and Kevin Hart’s Laugh Out Loud Production.
Stroman is a well-known comedian and his work can also be considered as fan collectibles and are also called the stuff of legends which is surely high praise. He appeared in films like Clerks II, The Longshots, and many television sitcoms like The Neighborhood, South Side, In the Cut, and many more.

Netflix around a series of stand-alone comedy specials, Chappelle’s Home Team which premiered on February 28th on Netflix. The show featured its first episode with the comedian Earthquake titled “Earthquake: Legendary” who talked about various topics. Along with Chappelle, producers like Earthquake, Rikki Hughes, Jermaine Smith, and Stan Lathan also will be serving as the director.
Chappelle’s name being controversial in showbiz ever since the release of “The Closer”. The Closer is his comedy special that debuted in October last year. It addressed the long history of the LGBTQ+ community and trans people.
He also calls himself a member of “team TERF” “trans-exclusionary radical feminist.” He also stated that the content on-screen doesn’t directly translate to real-world harm. With the backlash received on that show, it will be interesting to see how he is going to put up this one and whether he will be repeating the same act he did last time or if he will be changing it up.
Second Episode And Who Will Be The Comedian?
The premiere date for the second episode is still announced. But we do know who will be the stand-up comedian for it. Another comic from Washington just like Earthquake, Donnell Rawlings will be the main attraction in the second special. In the second episode, he will make the audience go crazy with his skills. We will surely hear a lot of “Son!” at the end of every line and obviously not forgetting his main and famous catchphrase “I’m rich, biaaaatch!”.
