Investigation Discovery’s fresh real-life-based documentary hits hard at the reality of the detectives trying their very best to solve the cases. The series is the behind-the-scenes of Kansas city crimes where Kansas PD detectives work day in and day out to find the culprits and give the victims justice.
This is a show that essentially captures the real-life drama in the investigations of the police against the backdrop of Kansas city in America. The first episode was released on the 9th of this month, with the second on 16th, the third on 23rd, and finally the fourth on the 30th.
Who is Mark Mims?
The case of multiple robberies at the gas stations in Kansas City began to surface in July of 2019 where the employees at the station complained of being robbed at gunpoint. One of the employees at the gas station managed to call 911 right after she was forced to give the entire cash by an unknown man at gunpoint in the wee hours of 3.55 a.m. The robber’s description was unclear; however, the victim claimed that he wore a hoodie and faced fully covered. The same information came in from other gas stations, and it got confirmed from the security footage from the stations.
But fortunately, one of the gas stations claimed to have seen a similar suspect but without the face covered enter their premises and demand for money. However, he failed to do so, but his appearance got captured in the surveillance cameras along with his car in which he left. The car number was looked into by the officials that eventually helped them reach to Mims.
Soon police managed to get some information about the culprits from one of the inmates in the prison who claimed to be Mim’s acquaintance. He assured the officials to look for the accused at his grandmother’s place. The police gave his claim’s a try and waited for Mims outside his grandmother’s house. Soon after, Mims managed to get out of the house without getting caught by the officials. But on discussing the matter with his grandmother, she assured him to help them catch his grandson.
Where is Mark Mims Now?
With the help of Mim’s grandmother, the accused was arrested by the police. Soon after, videos of Mims selling the gun began to circulate on social media. Many photographs of him in the same clothes as during the time of the robbery and some with lots of cash also came to light. After ransacking his car, officials found ammunition in his possession as well.
After enough evidences against him, Mims pleaded guilty and was eventually made to serve the prison for four years and three months, thereby only becoming eligible to be freed in 2023. At present, he serves his punishment in Kansas in Ellsworth Correctional Facility.
How Many Episodes are there in Real PD: Kansas City?
The show is said to have a total of four episodes for the current month, with the last one being aired just recently and the rest scheduled to be out once cases are gone for trials. According to the release date chronology, the episodes were titled Right in the Heart, Flip the Kingpin, I Just Shot my Girlfriend and the recent Run to Grandma. The show followed a weekly release schedule every Tuesday that began from its premiere on November 9 this year.
