The famous Japanese series Jujutsu Kaisen initially made its appearance in 2018 and has been a hit ever since. Originally it was made as an installment to Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical School created by Akutami that premiered back in 2017. Jujutsu Kaisen has also been written by Gege Akutami, serialized in a famous Japanese magazine, Weekly Shonen Jump.
However, after gathering immense love from fans, the anime version of this hit manga series was released in 2020 in the month of October and went on till March of 2021. It comprised a total of 24 episodes that were aired on MBS and TBS for Asian audiences and for fans not in Asia; it was made available on Crunchyroll.
The anime adaptation has been directed and produced by Sunghoo Park (Fullmetal Alchemist-Brotherhood) and MAPPA. MAPPA is the same animation production studio that has worked for Netflix on the latest Yasuke.
Jujutsu Kaisen 2 on Card?
After the first season being well appreciated by the viewers, it managed to garner an IMDb rating of 8.7 and is being applauded for realistic characters and their details. After entertaining the fans with the first installment, the audience is now eagerly in wait for the next edition of this dark-fantasy series.
Release Date for Season 2 of Jujutsu Kaisen
After the successful run of season 1, fans are of the belief that the next edition will be in the making soon. However, no official information regarding the same has been yet received. But the makers of the series did announce the arrival of a prequel by the name Jujutsu Kaisen 0 that will focus on the story of its predecessor – Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical School.
The announcement was made soon after the airing of the first edition and would probably be available by the end of 2022. If this is to be believed, then the release of Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 would begin only after the availability of prequel and won’t be available any time soon before 2023. Till now, these are just the predictions, and official news is yet to be certained.
Cast for Season 2 of Jujutsu Kaisen
The initial season is comprised of characters, namely- Yuji- the young boy in search of the fingers of the demon (the character been voiced by Junichi Suwabe), Junya Enoki-the protagonist, the friends of Yuji named- Megumi and Nobara that have been given voice by Yuma Uchida and Asami Seto respectively. The trio is trained in Jujutsu High and other sorcerers by the fierce teacher Satoru who is lending a voice by Yuichi Nakamura.
Season 2 will likely continue with the same cast; however, more additions could be made depending upon the story that moves ahead, with prequel being also released for the same in the form of a movie.
Plot for Season 2 of Jujutsu Kaisen
The initial story revolves around a young boy named YujiItadori, who, to save humanity, swallows the finger on demon Ryomen Sukuna and gets cursed himself. However, he discovers that he too possesses some supernatural powers, which helped him discover the remaining fingers of the cursed devil that he intends to eat around the curse and save humanity.
However, if the story is expected to go as the manga series, the Shibuya incident can be in the upcoming version. This will showcase the intense fight between Yuji with his team and the evil curses, leading to many losses in the way.
