Post the success of Netflix’s original musical comedy-drama Julie and the Phantoms, which appeared in September last year, the second edition to this remake of the Brazilian series- Julie e os Fantasmas is soon to be welcomed. The season one basically revolved around Julie Molina (Madison Reyes), portraying the role of a high school teenager with immense interest in making music and singing.
However, after the loss of her mother, she is taken aback and struggles to create music. She then accidentally summons the spirits of a long-dead band for 25 years and eventually forms a band with the ghosts- Luke, Alex, and Reggie- and helps them realize their dream. In return, the ghosts help her deal with day-to-day situations and care for her. The season, executive produced by the man behind high School Musical Kenny Ortega, was a massive hit among viewers with a 98% Audience Score.
Possible Date for Julie and Phantoms Season 2
The fans eagerly await the second installment for the successful American drama. However, no official update has been shared by Netflix, but sources have it that the sequel is in development. If rumors are to be believed, then the viewers could expect the arrival of new episodes for the second part this summer or probably before the end of 2021. However, until Netflix formally declares the release date, only guesses can be made, and confirmation can wait.
Cast for the Sequel
The part 2 for Julie and the Phantoms will comprise of the same cast as season 1 but with a few additions to the team. The protagonist Julie Molina will again be played by Madison Reyes along with the three ghosts that make up the band Phantoms – Luke (Charlie Gillespie), Alex (Owen Patrick Joyner), and Reggie (Jeremy Shada). In addition, Julie’s best friend Flynn is portrayed by Jadah Marie, her enemy Carrie essayed by Savannah May, and her crush, and Carrie’s boyfriend, Nick, by Sacha Carlson.
Cheyenne Jackson and Booboo Stewart, who also happen to have worked earlier with Ortega, play the role of Caleb Covington and Willie, respectively. Julie’s father, brother, and aunt have sequentially given to Carlos Ponce, Sonny Bustamante, and Alison Araya.
The Storyline for the Sequel
The first season showcased the ghost trio able to sing and make people see them with the help of Julie. In return, they help Julie explore her love for music and help her overcome the loss of her mother. However, trouble begins when Caleb gives them a countdown until they would leave the earth. But towards the end, the Phantoms can overturn the situation and finally interact with the real world.
But Caleb has no chill and gets close to Julie with the aid of Nick, who also happens to be her crush. If season 2 is set to telecast, the story will proceed deeper into the leads’ lives. More could be known about Julie’s mother, Caleb’s evil plans, and the ultimate fate of the Phantoms.
Till then, the audience can wait and hope for the official announcement of the sequel!
