Plot
Snowdrop tells the romantic story of two college students with a bit of historical touch. Set in 1987 Seoul, a year that has importance in the country’s history, this South Korean drama is a Historical cum Romantic Comedy.
At a very turbulent time in the history, a graduate student (Jung Hae-in) who got attacked in the protest seeks refuge in the female dormitory at the Hosoo Women’s University. He met the woman (Jisoo) who helps him to hide and with medical aids. The budding romance between them at the most unlikeliest of places at the most unlikeliest of times is going to be something epic.
There are also controversies surrounding the show as it involves a lot of historical references. There are speculations that the character played by Jung Hae-in would be a North Korean spy. Also, another character of the show would be part of the authoritarian agency for NSP (National Security Planning) who is just described as straightforward.
Also, a real-life historical figure who participated in South Korea’s Democracy movement has character similarities to that of the one played by Jisoo. The network has stated that the satirical approach to the Korean presidential elections during the 1980s and the black comedy portrayed in the series no way promotes or glamorizes being a spy or working for the NSP.

Jung Hae-In plays the male lead Im Soo-Ho in this series, and as confirmed by the crew last year, Kim Ji-Soo plays the female lead Chun Young-Cho. The major actors are Jang Seung-Jo, Yoo in-Na, Kim Hye-Yoon, Yoon Se-Ah, Jung Eugene, and so on. The director of the series is Jo Hyun Tak, and the writer is Yoo Hyun-mi.
