The Korean entertainment media industry has a different fan base worldwide. Be it music or series, and they have been ruling out every other regional entertainment media in every field. K-Dramas are particularly appealing to the young adults and teens, given the engrossing themes, subtle romance, and real-world like action sequences, if present.
Yumi’s Cells is a Korean television drama series that premiered on tvN on September 17, 2021, and airs every Friday and Saturday at 10:50 PM (KST). It is also released on online streaming platforms like TVING. It can be called a psychological romance that lays out the life of an ordinary office worker Yumi from the eyes of the cells in her head.
The setting of the series keeps shifting between Yumi’s real life and what is going on inside her head, all from the perspective of her brain cells which are attributed to have different emotions and drives. Her love cells are in a coma after a devastating relationship. The series will be portraying her journey as she grows as an individual while her brain cells try to rejuvenate the love cells.
All About the Release
The third episode of Yumi’s Cells will be released on 24th September 2021 at 22:00 (KST) on the tvN telecasting network. The first two episodes have been aired as of yet and were watched by several people from different regions of the world. This K-Drama series comprises of 14 episodes in total. Each episode has a runtime of 60 minutes. The good news for international viewers is that the series is available to watch on the streaming site Viki as well.
The second episode of Yumi’s Cells showed that Yumi was finally getting comfortable with the way her life was moving ahead. She had finally made her mind up to leave her past relationship behind and hope to have a better love life with somebody who’d see the best in her. Her Love cell had initially came back, though nothing went as per the plan.
The date was nearly ruined, and later Yumi got to know that Ugi was planning to set her up with his Hyung. This came as a psychological shock to her, and the cells town was flooded, leaving Yumi heartbroken. By the end of the episode, her love and the deep feeling cell could be seen left aghast on an island.
The preview of the third episode came out recently, and it suggested that there was still hope for Yumi to fall in love again, more importantly, to feel again. It showed the initial chemistry between our lead main couple. And as the saying goes, Yumi is slowly overcoming all her past experiences and starting to live again. Her significant other, Goo Woong, seems to be enjoying their first date too much; he doesn’t want it to end. The romance is likely to bloom with freshness once again.
The K-Drama series has barely begun and is already attracting audiences in huge numbers. A similar kind of movie showing the journey of a pre-teen from the eyes of her emotional avatars, named Inside-Out, was released long back and was loved immensely. This series is expected to have an even more profound impact on the people.
