Creator of The Undoing and Big Little Lies is coming back with yet another drama on HBO. David E. Kelley is the person we are talking about, and this drama will also be like the two mentioned. It will be about a murder case and will differ from his previous projects as it is based on a real story. The show is from the 1980s when Candy Montgomery killed Betty Gore.
Lesli Linka and Nicole Kidman will be producing the show along with Kelly and Lionsgate Television. Glatter will also be the director, and she has previously worked as the director on Mad Men and Homeland. The show is based on Evidence of Love: A True Story of Passion and Death in the Suburbs written by Jim Atkinson and John Bloom and the two articles written in Texas Monthly.
Release Date of Love and Death
Currently, there is no official release date of the show as HBO Max has just greenlit the show. The filming part began in September 2021 and can be expected to end by March 2022. So, it will take some time before we can watch it. As soon as some updates are received about the official announcement of the show’s release, we will update the details.
The Plot of Love and Death
The show will be based on the distressing murder of Betty Gore. She was found murdered in Wylie, Texas, in the 1980s and had 41 ax wounds. Betty’s husband- Allan, was involved with Candy Montgomery (friend and neighbor who was also married). Their affair started in the 1970s. Betty was found dead shortly after they ended their affair.
Candy Montgomery was the key suspect. She reported herself to be the last to see Betty alive and confessed to being the murderer in the trial. She claimed that it was self-defense as Betty attacked her first after discovering their affair. Candy was freed as she was not found guilty.
Many people questioned Candy’s version of the story and pointed out that there were some loopholes in the story. Betty considered Candy her “good friend,” as she had written the same about her in the letter she sent to her parents, and also she did not know about their affair even in her last days. One thing is for sure that the drama will have a lot of details to explore.
