What Is The First And Second Episode About?
The first episode is named ‘Murder at Taco Bell’. It is set in a southern Georgian town named Adel, where a man named Devonia Inman was charged with murder. He was accused of having murdered a woman named Donna Brown in a parking lot of Taco Bell in Adel long back in 1998.
He was sent to jail for a whole lifetime, but even after the police claimed to capture the right culprit of the small town, the town witnessed a few more cold-blooded murders over the years. During the investigation, it was revealed that police caught the wrong man as the DNA found in the parking lot was of some other man.
The second episode, named The Trial, continues from the first story itself. It is about the trial of Devonia Inman, charged with the murder of a woman. Even after his multiple pleadings, explanations and proofs of innocence, the stubborn jury isn’t ready to go deep into the case and find the right man. The episode also shows the other murders in the small town, all of them during the time Inman was in prison.
It shows the problematic court investigation where the witness changes their stories every time, and everyone has their version of the murder story. With all the different stories and explanations that pointed towards Inman but a DNA that didn’t, coming to an actual conclusion seemed like the most challenging part for the detective and his partner.
