The second season of Cheer recently made its premiere on Netflix. The comeback of the Navarro cheer squad was a thrilling mix of fame, rivalry, and skills. The first season Cheer was a smash hit, and the second season became unavoidable. Created by Greg Whitley, the bottom line gets more ambitious and murkier than before.

The first season has set its clear dimensions, but the urge to explore the topical concerns does not let the episodes come smoothly in season 2. Shot between 2020 and 2021, the docuseries chronicles the team again as they venture into the field of competitive cheerleading. If you have been waiting for its release, here’s what you must know.

The Emmy award-winning show, Cheer is back with its season 2, and the cheerleading competition goes fiercer than its preceding season. It brings out the ‘real’ aspect that encircles sports. Amidst the COVID complications and off-mat scandalous events, Cheer season 2 presents a yet uglier side of the sport.

Since the first season was a commercial success, the expectations from season 2 were exceptionally high. Focusing on the cheerleading team of Navarro Junior College in Texas reveals that cheerleading is not a rosy sport but demands intense athleticism and hard work.

However, the second season goes more precarious in its attempt to go more ambitious. It toes along various lines, examining how the incidental fame has impacted the cheerleading team and how Jerry Harris’ arrest for alleged sexual assault proved to be a jarring experience for the team. It also witnesses fierce competition due to the addition of a rival team.

The treat of new challenges and new rivals adds gravity to the show as the charismatic stars pave their way forth. It is a “hit-and-hope” situation, and how the team deals with it is what you must not miss. Hence, you should definitely stream it.

Where Can You Watch Cheer Season 2?

The second season of Cheer dropped on Netflix on January 12, 2022. It released the episodes at 3:00 a.m. ET/12:00 a.m. PT. You need to subscribe to the streaming platform to watch the second season of the cheerleading docuseries, Cheer. You can also catch season 1 on this platform.

The Navarro cheerleaders faced new challenges after they rose to fame and fought against new rivals and the pandemic itself. The first season was dropped on January 8, 2020.

The second episode of Cheer consists of nine episodes altogether. All the episodes were dropped simultaneously on January 12 on Netflix. You can watch the episodes to navigate the murky waters of cheerleading sport. Unlike popular belief, lots of hard work, dedication, and sacrifice go into the sport. As the Navarro team had prominently risen to instantaneous fame, how they deal with it is presented in the second season.

What Is Season 2 About?

The elite Navarro cheerleading team in the first season had built their path towards the climax of the national championship in the finale. Season 2 presents something similar, but a constant feeling of dread encircles the season. Moreover, Jerry Harris’ arrest is also an important plot point for the series. Its instant fame had become a double-edged sword, and the follow-up season examines the price of this fame.

The only word in the dictionary which can describe Lokesh well is "Curious". He is a man who sits in the corner of a café, sipping his coffee and watch others and write about them having a good time. Addicted to bettering himself each day. An impressive introvert who finds his home in the places he travels. It's either the power of universe or sunsets that sets his soul free. In between, He can be found wrapped in his own bubble, knitting stories even before the sun rises!
