Peacemaker Episode 7 Recap
It seems that the butterfly aliens are not the only problem of the Peacemaker as he has to deal with his dad, Auggie Smith. The fans can analyze the hint of irresponsible dads that bring an emotional trauma to their sons, just like in many superhero movies/series.
Spoiler Alert
Episode 7, titled “Stop Dragon My Heart Around”, reveals the tragic past of the Peacemaker when he accidentally killed his brother. The fight between the brothers was set up by their father, who also betted on their win. (So fatherly?) Young Christopher wanted to win, but the spar led to his brother’s death as Chris threw an innocuous punch that hit his brother’s head.
Christopher’s father blamed him for killing his brother even though he was the one who orchestrated the fight between them. Nevertheless, Peacemaker resolves his trauma and teams up with Vigilante and Economos to vanquish the forthcoming threat of butterfly creatures and a newly turned enemy.
Peacemaker and His Situation with Auggie
The White Dragon (Auggie Smith) is determined to kill Peacemaker. He tries to track down Peacemaker with his white supremacist to end him finally. With Vigilante’s quick wits, Peacemaker and Economos manages to get away from Auggie but only for a short time. The white supremacists gain to them in no time. Chris has no choice but to deal with his father head-on.
In the epic fight between father and son, White Dragon overpowers his son and pins him down. He mocks his son over his past and prepares to land his ending blow to kill Peacemaker. Fortunately, Vigilante jumps into the fight and stabs the White Dragon, which allows the Peacemaker to turn the tables. He finally manages to put him on the ground and points a gun at him.
White Dragon further taunts his son, claiming that he is not man enough to pull the trigger, but Chris instantly kills his father.
Murn’s Sacrifice
Harcourt confronts Adebayo over placing a Diary at Peacemaker’s house, and after an argument, Harcourt realizes that Adebayo is none other than Amanda Waller’s daughter. Amanda Waller had tasked Adebayo to plant the diary. Murn joins Harcourt and Adebayo and discloses a piece of important information about the source of food to the butterflies – the Cow.
The leader quickly informs Harcourt and Adebayo via a walkie-talkie that killing the food source is up to them. They had to regroup to finish their mission, but Murn faces Detective Song and butterflies. Song kills Murns and his butterfly self. She also informs her fellow butterflies about the plan to kill the Cow.
Harcourt and Adebayo return only to find Murn taking his final breath. The scene displays an emotional farewell with Murn. The duo faces the Judomaster, and after a fight, they manage to defeat him.
Finding the Cow
The group assembles at the veterinary where Peacemaker’s pet eagle recuperates from the White Dragon’s fight injuries. As the eagle recovers, the group decides the next leader should be Harcourt. Harcourt gives a much-needed pep talk and informs the group that they need to find and obliterate the Cow before the butterflies reallocate it.
The scene ends with Song and the butterflies reaching the underground bunker where the Cow is, and the audience gets a glimpse of the Cow. You can catch all the episodes of the Peacemaker on HBO Max.
