Pretzel and Puppies is the new animated venture of AppleTV+. Released this Friday, the show is based on the adorable and loved dog Pretzel from the classic book Pretzel by H.A and Margaret Rey, creators of Curious George. This animation takes a different route compared to the book.

Pretzel here a contemporary stay at home dog bringing up five Dachshund puppies while Mamma dog, Greta, works as the Mayor of Muttgomery. The animation caters to the choices of pre-school kids and engages them in fun adventures, all the while teaching them valuable lessons.

Pretzel and the Puppies is by Harper Collins Productions. It’s a fun and adventurous tale about a Dachshund who takes care of his kids while their mother manages the town. The expectations from the show are very high, considering the story and the creators involved.

We see the modern family help around the neighborhood. Now how this stay-at-home dad manages a household and four kids creates most of the fun. However, it’s not all gags, but they also plan to educate the kids like other cartoons. The show is divided into eight episodes.

Pretzel and Greta both try to bring up their kids to become brave dogs one day and have each other’s back when things get hard and “get their paws up” while fighting challenges. Surprisingly, it took so long for the show to be adapted on screen since the character has existed on pages since 1944.

Cast

The show has a cast of Mark Duplass of The Morning Show, NasimPedrad of Saturday Night Live. Sharing the voiceover with these prodigies are newcomers like Alex Jayne Go, Amari McCoy, Milo Stein, Max Mitchell and Gracen Newton.

Where to Watch Pretzel and Puppies?

The show has hit the theatres and the AppleTV+ on the 11th of January. You can watch it at a minimum subscription of $4.99 a month. This includes a 7-day trial. You can also avail yourself of a yearly package of $49.99 if you wish to be a loyal customer of the streaming platform. The rates are the same for the U.K. citizens as well, except that they will be in GBP.

If you want to watch it for free, then you can avail yourself for a month’s subscription by putting in your bank details but canceling it before the trial period ends. There will be no issues there.

The trailer to the show was released a week ago. The show is from the Harper Collins banner, with Caroline Fisher acting as the executive producer. Jennifer Contrucci and Steve Alteire are the other two co-executive producers. The show is a musical, so one can expect good songs to nod heads.

The show’s design is by House of Cool, and Saturday animation is behind the C.G. works. Tony Wagner acted as the curriculum expert. Tony Wagner is a well-known research fellow and education expert with The Learning Policy Institute.
