Queen of the South is one of the most popular crime thriller series filled with action and adventures. The first season of the show debuted in June 2016 and received lots of appreciation and love from the viewers. The series has launched fours seasons so far, and the fans are excited about the fifth season.

The show has received various awards for its plot, acting, and casting, including the famous Imagen and Win Awards. This series is based on a popular Spanish novel called “La Reina del Sur.” The fourth season of the show ended in June 2021, and all the episodes of the season were a great hit.

Season 5 Release Date

We had predicted that season 5 of the show might be available on streaming services in April or May 2022. We’d want to see Season 5 early, so an April 2022 release date should come as a wonderful surprise for the fans. It appears that this is indeed the final season, but if Netflix officially announces the fifth season in April, it will be a wonderful present audience.

Fans should keep in mind that seasons 1-3 will be available on Netflix a year later and a month sooner than the initial seasons. For example, season 1 premiered in June 2016, but it wasn’t available on Netflix until April 2017. This cycle was maintained until season 4, when everything fell into place. one year after the debut show

Season 5 Cast

The whole lead cast is scheduled to rejoin for the second season of the USA Network and Netflix drama. Tony Parra, unfortunately, will not be coming after being murdered in an incident in the fourth season ended. We will continue to see the beautiful acting of Alice Braga as Teresa Mendoza in the show.

Hemky Madera will also continue to play the role of Pote Galvez in season 5. All these actors are well known for their flawless acting and have also received various prizes for acting in the show.

Season 5 Plot

The Drama series, as already mentioned, is based on the drama and Spanish novel La Reina del Sur, which portrays the life of Teresa Mendoza, a poor woman from Sinaloa, Mexico. In Mexico, she met a drug dealer and got engaged with him romantically.

Following this, she escapes to the U. S., where she joins forces with others who share her goals to destroy the drug dealer on her chase. She succeeds and establishes her independent drug gang, becoming financially independent.

Season four concluded with James informing the team that the Russian were on their way. As a result, we recognize new storyline elements in season five, featuring Russians and the DEA. We’re excited to watch how Teresa handles the upcoming season’s issues.

Where To Watch This Show?

The series has four seasons so far with amazing episodes. We still have some time until the fifth season arrives on Netflix, so if you want to see the last season and see how things end, there are several different places where you enjoy the previous seasons of the series. Season four had thirteen-episode which was around 37 to 45 minutes per episode.

You can watch Queen of the south on Netflix with good picture quality. You can also enjoy the show on Amazon Prime and Disney+ Hotstar with the best quality.
