Snowfall is an ongoing series currently in its 5th installment which first premiered on July 5, 2017. Created by John Singleton & Eric Amadio, the show saw massive success on its release with Snowfall season 4 earning the title of the most-watched FX series in the year 2021 but the new season, season 5 has broken all records of its predecessor. Snowfall is definitely growing into one of the most popular shows of all time with each season doing better than the last.
What to Know Before Watching?
Season 5 takes place in 1986, 15 months from the scene where season 4 ended. While season 1, season 2, season 3, and season 4 showed the characters struggling in the ghetto to make money and a stable business; season 5 is when the family is at its highest power. They have the money and the business but cracks form at the bottom when there is too much on top.
The first two episodes of the Snowfall Season 5 premiered the same day and earned massive popularity. It might be fictional but doesn’t hit the ball too far from home. Many scenes in the story depict the real-life struggles of the black community they still have to face in 2022(isn’t it ironic, because the show takes place in 1986 and nothing much has changed for the black community yet?) which makes it all the more relatable and engrossing.
Meanwhile as the power and money increase, so will greed and the need for more power. This season we will definitely see some family feuds as the members of the family go against each other and behind their backs. Which could be used by the competition to destroy them.
Snowfall season 5, episode 4
Cissy finally returned after being MIA the whole season after she lost Alton. There is still so much mystery around Alton which when revealed could break the whole foundation the family stand on and create new bonds. Does no one know what happened to Alton if he died? How did he die? Is he missing? Is he ALIVE?!
While Cissy returns, as seen at the beginning of the season with the death of a promising start, Len Bias, the laws have become stricter and the streets unsafe for business with L.A.P.D creating new C.R.A.S.H. (Community Resources Against Street Hoodlums) units, especially to bust the drug dealers.
Where Can You Watch Snowfall, Season 5?
You can watch the series on FX cable operator every Wednesday at 10 PM Pacific Time. However, if you don’t have FX, you can watch it on Hulu but only a day after the original release.
