This was because he had felt lost after he had suffered an injury that stopped him from playing baseball professionally again.

One of the pressing questions in season 2 is regarding the birth parents of Isaac. While he relentlessly pursues the truth in season one, once he discovers it, he starts to regret it. And it may come across as a major surprise to you. Peggy Martin, the local journalist in Serenity, is his mother.
She had conceived him in her teenage years but decided to give him up due to her mother’s social standing. And, it turns out that the father is none other than Bill Townsend. Before things had started to get serious with Maddie, he had sex with Peggy, which resulted in the child.
What Decision does Helen Make?
Across the second season, Helen finds herself torn between Ryan and Eric. After she had faced a heart-wrenching break-up with Ryan, she had suffered a miscarriage, which she does not reveal to Ryan, as he did not want kids in the first place. Helen begins to pursue a warm relationship with Eric, but just as things seem to go right, the death of Miss Francis brings Ryan back to Serenity.
There is a fresh wave of change in him, and he is back here to stay. And he also proposes her to marry with him. There is a lingering question if she will say yes.
