What to Know Before Watching The Expanse Season 6 Episode 1?
The previous season of The Expanse started with Rocinante being repaired on Tycho station. The crew takes off on their individual adventures.
Captain James Holden stays on Tycho Station with his ship, where Monica Stuart informs that there are still Protomolecules in existence. With this knowledge, he asks Fred Johnson about it, who denies it but later confesses when they were being attacked by the ship Zmeya.
The robotic creatures are successful in getting hold of it. Holden and Fred’s Chief Ops Officer, Bull, try to follow Zmeya to destroy it on Rocinante, but it suddenly implodes itself. Captain Holden tries to get hold of his crew members. His ship is met with three ships ready to attack, but Camina Drummer’s timely intervention saves Rocinante.
Naomi takes The Chetzemoka to Pallas Station to meet her son long lost. Her reunion did not go as expected. Thus, she decides to return. However, she is knocked unconscious, and it is revealed that her ex, Marco is responsible for the attacks on Earth. She makes a bold attempt to escape through the airlock and land directly on her ship. But her ship is rigged. She jumps out into space and is saved by Alex and Bobbie.
Drummer, who is traveling with her family, gets an invite from Marco to join him. However, she deflects. As a punishment for the act, Serge is thrown out of the airlock, and her family breaks apart.
Alex goes to Mars on the Razorback. He finds Bobbie Draper probing into stealth tech that is being sold illegally. Both of them find that Mars has been aiding Marco and his Free Navy with warships. Alex succumbs to the strain put up by the Epstein Drive jump when he and Bobbie were fleeing from Mars. Avasarala was appointed as the UN General Secretary after the asteroid attack. It is revealed that Amos is not really Amos but Timothy.
The identity was provided by his friend Erich in exchange for the promise to never return to Earth. Amos meets up with Holden’s old nemesis, Clarissa Mao, who is locked in the UN’s most secure prison, The Pit. After the asteroid hits the Earth, both of them fight their way to the ground. After a mutual decision, they fly to Luna (moon) with a bunch of refugees.
The team reunites with Luna and starts making plans to bring Marco and his Free Navy down. It is shown that the protomolecule survived and arrived on the Ring safely. However, the ship carrying it starts disintegrating.
