Mike Flanagan’s horror stories have proved to be a hit among audiences. Fans are expecting more to come out soon. His latest Netflix original- Midnight Mass, which is a horror mystery drama, was anticipated to come on September 24, 2021. The drama is based on an isolated island that’ll take its viewers on a twisted religious-fueled ride. Apart from Midnight Mass, fans are excited about The Midnight Club.
The Midnight Club is based on a YA book by Christopher Pike. This drama will be Flanagan’s first movie for teens. It shows us the story of a group of five friends who live at Rotterdam House for ill teens. These teenagers assemble at the hospice’s library at night and tell each other horror stories and make a pact among them. What is the understanding? It is that the teen who dies first must contact all the other members of the group in the afterlife.
It is a drama that promises viewers to be heartfelt and chilling. As these teenagers deal with their truth of impending deaths, they try to find comfort in friendship. These children also want to know whether it is possible to communicate with the dead. Fans expect The Midnight Club to come by Halloween. Will it come by Halloween? Let’s see!
Release Date of The Midnight Club
Filming for The Midnight Club began on March 15, 2021. On the first day of the shoot, Flanagan tweeted a picture of the clapperboard, which was captioned- “And we’re off”. Reports are claiming that the filming was scheduled to end on September 8, 2021. This news has to be officially confirmed yet. Flanagan posted a picture on Instagram where we saw him and Julia Bicknell working on the show together.
Flanagan said that it feels like ten years ago, so possibly the filming has been completed for the series. Netflix subscribers will possibly get to watch The Midnight Club by the Spring of 2022, most probably around April (if we consider that post-production work would require eight months). The Wikipedia page of The Midnight Club mentions that it’ll release in 2021 but it is less likely to happen.
In the meantime, viewers can watch Flanagan’s Midnight Mass which will come to the OTT platform during the second half of 2021. We’ll post any further updates about The Midnight club as soon as they’re officially announced.
The Cast of The Midnight Club
Flanagan usually works with the same actors in most of his projects. In The Midnight Club, we’ll see actors who’ve worked with him in the past and they’ll also be seen in Midnight Mass. Some of the main cast are new faces in The Midnight Club. Samantha Sloyan, who was also seen in The Haunting of Hill House and Hush will be seen in this series.
The actors who will be seen in both The Midnight Club and Midnight Mass are Ruth Codd and Sauriyan Sapkota. Zach Gilford will also be seen in both projects. The new actors that’ll be seen in The Midnight Club are Adia, William Chris Sumpter, Aya Furukawa, Igby Rigney, Matt Biedel, Annarah Cyymone, Heather Langenkamp, and Matt Biedel.
