The show got average reviews from the fans. It is based on one of the best-selling Terry Pratchett’s series of novels, “Discworld.” The story follows a group of cops who protect Ankhmorpork, a city full of fantasies and surprises. They aim to protect the city from any wrongdoers. And below are all the updates we have known about “The Watch” season two.
When is The Watch Season 2 Expected to Release?
The BBC network has not made any official announcement yet regarding the renewal of the second season of The Watch; hence this might be a little too early to be thinking about release dates. The first season’s shooting started in October 2019, and the show first premiered on BBC on January 3rd, 2021. Unfortunately, it almost took more than a year for them to complete and premiere the show during the pandemic.
Hence, if the BBC does announce the renewal of the show for the second season, it would take atleast a year to be released. The actor who plays Cheery, Jo Eaten-Kent, recently said that he believes there is a second season on the horizon because there are many questions to be answered and mysteries to be solved. All the unanswered questions and tricky fantasies that left us wondering will be unraveled soon in the second season of The Watch.
Who is Expected to Return in The Watch Season 2?
If the second season of The Watch is announced, then the whole cast of the first season is expected to return. The Watch is about how the group aims to keep the city free from all criminal activities. Richard Dormer plays the head of the unit, Captain Sam Vimes. Jo Eaten-Kent plays the unit’s forensic officer, Constable Cheery Littlebottom. Adam Hugill plays the newest member of the city, Constable Carrot Ironfoundersson. Marama Corlett as Corporal Angua and Ralph Ineson gives the voice to Seargent Detritus.
Even other supporting characters are expected to be back in the second season. Lord Havelock Vetinari, the ruler of Ankh-Moropork, played Anna Chancellor. Arch-Chancellor of Unseen University (Ankh-Moropork’s fantasy school) played by James Fleet. Voice of Death by Wendell Pierce. Lara Rossi plays Lady Sybil Ramkin, Sam’s wife.
What is the Expected Plot of The Watch Season 2?
The show would pick from where it left in the first season. The second season will start with heading towards Sam discovering Observer’s realm; it is an area where it is possible to be transported into an alternate reality, the area is said to be struck out of time.
Adam Hugill recently said in an interview that no one knows what could happen next. Because of the whole point of Observer’s realm and the people been transported into by Vimes, he also mentioned that they could choose any multiverse they want, and they can also throw him back into a verse where he could have to exist equally. So, God knows where you might end up finding him in a potential further-down-the-line story. Who knows where they throw him back into?
The first season ended up with several things: Angua and Carrot; the Watch members end up confessing their feelings to each other but haven’t yet got into a relationship. Also, the villain Carcer Dun frames Lupin Wonse for calling upon the dragon, which threatens Ankh-Moropok.
These are all the updates known so far. Official announcements about the show’s release dates, cast, and plot are yet to be made.
