Traffickers: Inside the Golden Triangle Episode 1 is going to be the pilot episode of the Documentary Series. Titled “The Opium King” the episode will go deeper into the lives of Traffickers who live in one of the most Opium Rich locations on the planet. The documentary aims to expose the dark and secret hub of drug production within the triangle and reveal the secrets behind the untimely demise of the three main drug lords deep inside the triangle.
What is the Golden Triangle?
The Golden Triangle is the area formed by the borders of Myanmar, Thailand, and Laos. The golden triangle is known for being responsible for being one of the largest producers of Opium and Methamphetamine in the world.
Furthermore, they were also one of the leading manufacturers of Heroin. Afghanistan beat them to the position in the early 21st Century. After Afghanistan, Myanmar is the 2nd largest producer of Opium being responsible for about 25% of the Opium on the planet.
In terms of Methamphetamine Myanmar is believed to be the largest in the world. It is shocking how just one location in the world is in the lead in the production of these highly addictive substances. What’s more shocking is that they were allowed to be the first for as long as they have.
Its shows how lax law enforcement is in those areas. In recent years the production of drugs has gone down. Not by much but they haven’t been going down for so long that any small decrease is a big achievement
When to Expect the Latest Episode
The show is scheduled to air on the 24th of March 2022. The documentary will have 3 episodes depicting the end of 3 of the kingpins in the area. However, the show does have an IMDB rating of 8.6/10. Moreover, the titles of the first 3 episodes have also been released.
The titles are The Opium King, The Mekong River Pirate, and the Playboy Drug Lord. There is no information about the duration of each episode. However, it should be a thrilling ride seeing the fall of these powerful figures in the Recreational Drugs Society.
These people have been active for a very long time. They have if not directly have touched the lives of millions of people all over the world and not in a nice way. These drugs are known for being highly addictive. It comes to a point that they would do anything to avoid the withdrawal symptoms. Furthermore, hundreds of thousands of people die from an overdose. Even though 3 of them were removed from power another may have taken their place.
