There is no avoiding the fact, and we are all fans of Trinity Seven here. Created by Kenji Saitō in 2010, the fast-paced and witty manga series quickly fans all over. With the series selling reportedly over 3 million copies by 2017. Four years after its release, it was made into a successful anime, with two other movies releasing in subsequent years. But while interest in the series persists, fans of the anime have been waiting for Trinity Season two.
When is Trinity Seven Season 2 Expected to Release?
Seven years is not a short time. That is how long fans of the anime have been waiting for their favourite characters to return. To say that they are a tad bit annoyed will be an understatement. After the first season of the anime aired in 2014, excitement about the series exploded. It eventually culminated in the release of two movie adaptations of the anime in 2017 and 2019. As for a second season, there was mysteriously no news.
Around the time of the release of the second film adaptation, news about the series returning began to circulate. The show even start production, and a release date for Season two also announced. However, with fans still waiting for that elusive second season, there is no need to write what happened next. But now, there are reasons to be optimistic about. Rumours of Trinity Seven returning this year are ripe. Although the creators have so far not confirmed them, fans remain hopeful. It is still unknown whether the series will return this year, or ever for that matter. But fans are willing to bet, 2021 will be their year.
What Has Been the Story So Far?
The story of Arata Kasuga is one to admire. Arata starts as any regular guy, living a simple life in his town with his cousin Hijiri. However, his life takes a turn for the worse with the Breakdown Phenomenon during Black Sun. The event disintegrates the entire town and the people in it except Arata, saved by a grimoire. Hijiri makes Arata wear it around his neck while she disappeared, thus protecting his life.
But the event completely shatters young Arata. As the only one surviving, he wishes for his life to return to normal. Unknown to the powers of the grimoire, he is startle to see his wish fulfilled. The spell cast to recreate the disappeared town brings a powerful mage- Lilith Asami, to the town. She breaks the magical spell and makes Arata remember everything again. Crucially he learns from the grimoire about Hijiri being not dead.
Determined to bring back his cousin to life, he decides to join Royal Biblia Academy. It is a school for gifted mages, of which Lilith is one. Arata pledges to become a powerful mage himself and discover the truth behind the Black Sun, thereby also finding out where Hijiri is.
Which Characters Are Expected Return?
Given the silence the creators have been maintaining about the show, it is hard to predict which new characters might be introduced this season. A fair guess can be made about which characters are expected to return. Arata is the protagonist of the series, so he is going nowhere. Neither do we expect Lilith, Arin, Levi to go anywhere. Maybe also throw Hijiri in the mix, although nothing is certain yet.
With the constant appeals from the fans, the creators are under tremendous pressure to return with a new season. To many fans, that is just a matter of time. Hopefully, their patience will be rewarded. Trinity Seven proved in its first season how brilliant a show it was. And it will be miserable if the series does not make a comeback in the future.
