Vacation Friends – The comedy movie released last week is making headlines again as it will make a comeback with a sequel. The movie is an Original of the 20th century and the most-watched till date.
The director of the movie is Clay Tarver. He has also assisted in the writing along with John Francis Daley, Tim Mullen, Jonathan Goldstein, Tom Mullen. The movie was released through the streaming platform Hulu in the United States and through Star of Disney plus in Canada and the United Kingdom. The movie has received an IMDb rating of 6.3 and is growing.
Plot
The plot revolves around 4 people Marcus, Emily, Ron, and Kyla. Marcus and Emily being the wise couple who think 10 times before any decision. On the other hand, Ron and Kyla are the types of a couple who are careless or like to live at the moment, make rash decisions, etc. These two couples meet at a resort on their vacation and befriend each other.
The story moves forward with the wise couple living at the moment and making some rash decisions. Their vacation gets over, and they head home. Little do Marcus and Emily know that this vacation might bring down many things in their lives or maybe even bring them up. Eventually, the four meet again at Marcus and Emily’s wedding. Misunderstanding, sadness, disappointment, guilt, etc., are all felt through the movie’s ending.
Cast
The four main characters in the cast are John Cena, Lil Rel Howery, Yvonne Orji, and Meredith Hagner, who are playing the role of Ron, Marcus, Emily, and Kyla, respectively. Apart from them, we can see Robert Wisdom and Lynn Whitfield playing the role of Emily’s parents – Harold Conway and Suzanne Conway, respectively.
We all know John Cena has made a wonderful impact in WWE, apart from that, he has acted in many movies, “12 Rounds”, “The Reunion” his career is rising in 2021, with many films lined up to release or in the process. Yvonne Orji is best known for her performance in Night School and insecure – a series. The Nigerian- American actress has received a couple of nominations and awards herself. She won the Black Reel Awards for Television in the category of Outstanding Supporting Actress, Comedy Series.
Meredith Hagner has a spectacular performance in many movies and TV shows too. She was nominated for Daytime Emmy Awards in the category of Outstanding Younger Actress in a Drama Series. Lil Rel Howery is best known for the horror movie “Get Out.” He is a writer, comedian, actor, and producer. He won the CinemaCon Award in the category of Breakthrough Performer of the Year.
Sequel
The movie “Vacation Friends” is in talks of getting a sequel titled “Honeymoon Friends.” Rumors are that Clay Tarver will return with writing and directing the sequel too. We might get to see the main cast of Vacation Friends reunited and maybe become like a family. The new sequel might have an addition in the cast. Even though there is no fixed date, we might get a sequel pretty soon if things work out well.
