One of the prime targets of the king was his younger brother, Monsieur who is an exceptional, dandy, and formidable warrior. Louis’ queen, Marie Therese also considers the court to be a battleground for her as she has to do everything possible in her reach to be able to win back her king.

Cast
The main cast includes George Blagden as Louis XIV. His brother, Monsieur Philippe I, is played by Alexander Vlahos. Tygh Runyan, Stuart Bowman, Amira Casar, Evan Williams, Noemie Shmidt, are also part of the main characters.
Anna Brester plays the king’s favorite mistress and Maria Theresa of Spain who is the king’s wife is played by Elisa Lasowski. Maddison Jaizani, Jessica Clark, Pip Torrens, Harry Hadden-Paton, and Greta Scacchi also portray many important characters in the story.
