The Comey Rule is an American political drama miniseries. It is based on A Higher Loyalty: Tries, Lies, and Leadership which James Comey wrote. Billy Ray is the director and writer of this series. Terry Gould and Cari produce Esta Albert’s series under production companies Secret Hideout, Home Run Productions, and The Story Factory.
The story is based on a true story and is about FBI Director James Comey and President Donald J. Trump. James Comey will direct two separate investigations, and the whole story will revolve around the investigation. Part 1 showed the investigation of Hillary Clinton’s email server and how that affected the elections. Part 2 showed the early days of Donald Trump’s presidency, where everything became too hectic.
This miniseries had two parts and was released in 2020 by Showtime. The series had different release dates and platforms for different countries. Story Plot
Part 1 showed the FBI director James Comey in the 2016 election and the days when Donald Trump was elected as president. J. Comey asked Mark F. Giuliano to become the Deputy FBI director to direct the Hillary Clinton e-mail server investigation. There was a big powerful team formed. An investigation was held, and they found some evidence against the Russian government.
Then after a few times, that investigation was closed. Still, Comey asked to re-open that investigation as Hillary’s email server turned up to be some new scandal in Anthony David Weiner’s system. Part 1 was ended with Hillary Clinton calling Donald Trump to hand over the elections to him. Part 2 started with the heads of intelligence community members visiting Barack Obama with everything that Russia wanted. Sergey Kislyak, a Russian ambassador, communicated with Michael Flynn.
Kislyak asked many things to exclude Russia. Intelligence chiefs met Trump after the elections and told him what all the Russian government is doing to duplicate pro-trump information. FBI got some information through phone between Kislyak and Flynn. Trump called Comey in the white house for a private meeting. Trump asked Comey for loyalty and then fired Sally Yates as a lawyer. Trump asked Comey to take back his case against Michael Flynn and told him that he had not given any money to Iran as Obama did. Part 2 ended with Comey and his team getting fired.
