There’s good news for the fellows’ Hearties as we got to know from a video on the Instagram page of Jack Wagner and co-stars Kevin McGarry and Chris McNally that the shooting for Season 9 to When Calls The Heart has wrapped up, and it’s soon set to release. For those who don’t know, When Calls The Heart is a show set in the small town of Hope Valley.
The show revolves around the lives of the people living in this small town, particularly Elizabeth Thronton. Over the seasons, we see Elizabeth falling in love with a Mountie and losing him soon to death. She now raises her son, whom she named after her deceased husband Jack, as a single mother.
She is courted by two potential suitors, Nathan Grant and Lucas Bouchard. Elizabeth got the whole fanbase divided based on her decision at the end of S8. Let’s find out what the next season holds in store for us.
Where can We See it in 2022?
The show will be available from the 6th of March on the Hallmark Channel every Sunday from 8 pm ET. If you don’t have access to the channel, don’t worry because the show is also available on Netflix. According to reports, the show has 12 episodes for this season.
The show is also available on other streaming platforms like iTunes, Prime Video, and other streaming platforms on subscription. DVDs to the show are also available for one to purchase.
What is the Show About?
Love will continue to bloom between Elizabeth and her new suitor. On the other hand, we’re set to see a head-on competition between the three mayoral candidates- Fiona, Lee Coulter, and Mike Hickam as they gear up to win the mayoral seat alongside Bill Avery.
In addition, Rosemary took over her position as the new editor-in-chief of the town’s newspaper, The Valley Voice. With a handover of powers, the newspaper will see some new hijinks. Fans are also expecting a new love interest for Nathan, with Amanda Wong joining the star cast as Mei Suo’s character.
We don’t have much intel on the newest additions to the show, but we’re pretty sure about the repeating star cast members. Erin Karakow will be reprising her role as the deeply in love, single mother of Jack, Elizabeth Thornton.
Kevin McGarry and Chris McNally return as Nathan Grant and Lucas Bouchard. Jack Wagner is returning as the ex-lawman and forensic expert Bill Avery. This season will also see Amanda Wong playing the role of Mei Suo, a potential love interest for Nathan.
Where has the Show been Filmed?
Most of the show is shot on the set of Hope Valley, which has been created inside the Jamestown Movie Set in Vancouver, British Columbia. It was filmed on a farm surrounded by vineyards when the show initially started. Later on, in 2013, a set was created.
A fun fact, the houses, even though they look like they are two-story, they don’t have any rooms on the first floor. So all those shots taking place on the first floor of the houses were shot somewhere else.
