Young Wallander, directed by Ole Endresen and Jens Jonsson, is a popular crime drama television series. The renewal of the second season was on 8th November 2020. The premiere date of the series is 3rd September 2022.

The plot of the show is based on a famous novel and revolves around the fictitious Inspector Kurt Wallander. If you are wondering whether to watch this series or not, here is all you need to know before watching the second season of this wonderful crime thriller show.

What Is The Plot Of Season 2?

The second season begins off where the first left off, with Kurt still suffering from Hemberg’s death. Meanwhile, Elias is killed in a hit-and-run case wherein the cops arrive. The incident eventually turns out to be a deliberate murder, which initially appeared to be the outcome of drunk driving.

Elias is someone Frida Rusk remembers from her first court case 7 years ago. The current tale takes a detour into the past. Initially, Elias and his brother were believed to be the murderers of the wicked swimming teacher, Jurgen Moberg.  But later in the series, we find out that there is much more to the event.  Turns out that the assassin of Moberg is Amelia Holmgren, Elias’ classmate.

Finally, Soren holds a knife to Amelia’s throat, forcing her to expose the truth. Amelia’s acknowledgment of her participation in the tragedy is the reason behind Soren’s satisfaction. Until the capture of Petterson, the cops won’t be able to retain Amelia. At the conclusion of the case, the detectives pay a final visit to Hemberg’s burial.

Is The Show Worth Watching?

The show is definitely worth watching especially with such a wonderful storyline and beautiful acting. Palsson makes every effort to portray Wallander as a dedicated and honest man with great analytical abilities, notably for someone who is so young.

We know he is ignoring the fact of him being exposed as a cop, seeking to enlist the help of the local gang boss. He understands Ibra didn’t do it, and that something more is at work. However, Wallander, despite his sorrow for not preventing the boy who was blown up, is expected to move forward.

But, for the time being, we only see Wallander as a youthful performer, with no regrets and not harmed by any events. However, season 2 clearly brings the light on that matter.

Should You Stream It Or Skip It?

You should definitely stream it especially if you like watching crime or thriller series. The show has done a wonderful job with such a talented cast, excellent storyline, and incredible performance. Wallander is the absolute perfect crime story.

The program is based on the works of Henning Mankell. His works are both fascinating and realistic, with frequently more intriguing conflicts. The transfer from novel to cinema has been a great achievement thanks to the efforts of brilliant scriptwriters, artists, and producers.
