An extraordinarily original animated series named Gravity Falls made its debut on the Disney Channel ten years ago, on June 15, 2012.
The Gravity Falls television series, created by Alex Hirsch, follows twins Dipper and Mabel Pines as they spend the summer in a small town. They reside with Grunkle Stan (Alex Hirsch), their great-uncle who owns and operates the Mystery Shack, a tourist trap.
You may already be aware that Gravity Falls is unique and unusual. It’s a cleverly written, gorgeously designed, wicked puzzle box of a cartoon that masterfully captures the magic of summertime as a child while simultaneously building a cunning multi-season mystery inspired by Twin Peaks and Lost.
It embraces a wide range of genres and life experiences, and it does both so tastefully that it’s difficult to see anyone not falling in love with it.
There are a lot of characters in Gravity Falls. But I have selected some of the most renowned and famous gravity falls characters. So, let’s dive in and find out with whom you can relate.
20. Stan Pines
Stan discovered after researching him that he was a self-serving con artist whose activities were primarily driven by self-preservation and his value above all else in life.
However, Stan started to change as he was given the responsibility of looking after Dipper and Mabel until he got to the point where he was willing to endanger his own life to save them.
Although Stan has been watching Dipper and Mabel all summer, the episode “Scary Oke” marked the first time they were seen. In this episode, Stan fought zombie attacks to protect his buddies.
Later, during Weirdmageddon, Stan puts his moral character to the ultimate test when he opens his mind to hunt down and kill Bill.
19. Ford
Ford and Dipper appear to be similar, yet when a threat arises, they drastically diverge. Where Dipper is prone to hate, he is afraid and relies on his analytical thinking, instincts, and studies to help him make decisions.
Ford never doubted his skills, which allowed him to live in multiple realities and beyond. He couldn’t have endured the long hours he spent trying to identify anomalies and their causes if he couldn’t break his will.
He learned to control his worries and maintain his composure after coming through alien robot guards at Gravity Falls. When Ford suffered his torture, he was terrified but remarkably silent.
18. Gideon
Gideon consistently used backups and hedged his bets in earlier battles to come out on top. When all of that failed, Gideon decided to stand by his victorious teammates and consented to keep the bill in jail until Weirdmageddon.
Gideon was a hostile antagonist throughout the series who turned cowardly when confronted with the repercussions of his actions.
But Bill triumphed over Gideon in the climactic episode. He sacrificed himself so that the Pine family would learn how to keep the residents of their town safe, and all applauded him. The only times he indeed displayed courage were during his darkest hours.
17. Dipper Pines
Mabel was a brave sister who jumped into situations without considering the repercussions during her experience. However, Dipper was only concerned about the consequences of what had happened to him in this circumstance.
Dipper was continuously concerned about every scenario. In the end, though, the drive to study prevailed. Instead, he faces his worries by thinking about the opportunities ahead. Dipper was initially a timid character, yet he persisted despite this and never let anything stop him.
16. Soos Ramirez
To perform all that labor-intensive tasks, every firm requires its best staff. So he has Soos for Grunklin Stan’s Mystery Shack. He serves as the show’s most cynical thug and the shack’s handyman.
He showed proficiency in various other pursuits during his free time, including disc jockeying, pinball, and golf. His most notable performances can be seen in the television show “Soo and the Real Girl.” The couple encounters GIFfany, a dating app that must disclose its goals.
15. Grunkle Stan/Stanley Pines
The third main character is the gangster uncle of Dipper and Mabel and the proprietor of Mystery Shack, a notorious tourist trap.
In every episode of his work, Grunkle Stan displayed a coarse nature, including naive irresponsibility, salesmanship pride, and a constant desire to get rich quickly.
Grunkle Stan showed a softer side when the series probed deeper into local secrets, especially in “No What He Looks,” where he learned he was concealing a very deadly item.
14. Wendy Corduroy
Wendy embodies the ideal cool girl. The cashiers labor in mysterious huts because her family has roots in a lumberjack family.
However, she also shows a variety of abilities that she inherited from her parents, including her mighty strength, her enduring strength, and her persistence in the face of opposition.
She showed Dipper’s friends a lot of love. In certain shows, the boy wants the woman, but nothing happens. She admitted that Robbie, who Dipper didn’t like, was her ex-boyfriend. Wendy feels a deep connection to Dipper.
13. Bill Cipher
Bill may not have claimed anything, but he persisted even though he was brave despite his fear. He is unyielding because his only fear was passing away throughout the centuries that he was alive.
He admitted that he was a coward when faced with his death when he ultimately asked for his life, passionately wanting his future and seeking to get into a relationship with Stan, despite never having felt any general fear throughout his long life.
12. “Li’l” Gideon Gleeful
Dipper and Grunkle Stan’s primary foe and a great matchup for both characters in the first and second seasons is Gideon Gleeful. Gideon is the proprietor of the Tent of Telepathy, which he views as a venue for showcasing his extraordinary psychic powers.
In contrast to other Gravity Falls residents, the child is fascinated by the town’s paranormal activities. As a result, he feels compelled to push back against his brothers, which leads to him falling for a scam and getting locked up.
11. Uncle Ford/Stanford Pines
=The hidden books that were the basis of the spooky tale were written by Stanford Pines, a distant cousin of Uncle Ford and the long-forgotten twin of Grunkle Stan. Additionally, he once crossed paths with Bill Cipher.
When Ford learned of his plans, Ford attempted to obstruct him and destroy the Teleporter. To go back in time, Stanley has since rediscovered his twin brother’s name. In addition, he assisted Dip as a trusted mentor throughout his short flicks.
10. Old Man McGucket
The show’s saddest character is also a one-person illustration of how this first funny, carefree entertainment progressively transforms into something meaningful and emotional.
McGucket begins as merely a cartoon stock type—the elderly prospector or hillbilly who has gone nuts, quite different from the redneck cliché of Cletus from The Simpsons—but with time, he transforms into something much more significant.
He plays a crucial role in the underlying mythology of the show. He is a concrete illustration of the perils Dipper and Mabel can encounter as they continue exploring the town’s mysteries. Before descending into a deep vein of melancholy, he offers pure comic relief.
9. Pacifica Northwest
Pacifica has blonde hair, is a typical American girl, and has a seductive demeanor. Her initial conflict with Mabel started. However, she frequently uses her flaws to further her interests, making her a manipulative person.
Even though the “mean girl who gradually has become a friend by the end” cliché is overused, Gravity Falls makes the most of it with Pacifica Northwest. She is more than just a static mean girl; during her prominent appearances, her horrible personality—and eventual redemption—are explored and developed.
By the conclusion of season two, she has lost any sense of who she is, she has come to terms with how awful her parents are, and you can’t help but feel for her in the same way that Mabel and Dipper do.
However, she has an internal transformation in the Second Season when she joins Mabel to outnumber the Lilliputians who interfered with their golf match in “The Golf War.”
8. Candy Chiu
Candy is a modest, quiet, happy, and supportive Korean girl who is Mabel’s best friend. Unlike Mabel and Grenadine, she had an intriguing personality, and they remained close.
Their adolescent children are the subject of a shared fascination. Despite playing a supporting role, Candy was sometimes the most known character.
7. Mabel Pines
The delightful little tornado of joy and pleasure that is Dipper’s twin sister serves as an essential counterbalance to the order of Dipper.
She may not be as intrigued by the unknown as her brother. Still, she is better equipped to manage it once they come into contact with it, thanks to her unwavering confidence and unconventional thinking.
She is a much more compelling character than Dipper, which makes her the ideal protagonist for any plot. Still, she never seems out of place or uncomfortable during the episodes that focus heavily on mythology.
She is the best overall character on the show since she is just as significant and endearing as Dipper while still being considerably funnier and more entertaining.
6. Grenda
Grenda ought to be further up this list, in my opinion. Not just because she’s my favorite, but because she stands out as a distinct, amusing, and imaginative character in contrast to Candy, who is both a stereotype and a flat surface.
The more I think about it, the more I believe Grenda is underappreciated since her movies have so many genuinely amusing lines.
5. Sheriff Blubs
He is depicted as lazy, frequently opting to relax and drink coffee rather than look into a case.
He thinks he’s better than everyone, even though he seems to lack police training, and frequently looks down on the twins, which hinders their ability to solve mysteries.
As evidenced by Deputy Durland’s remark about how inactive their equipment is, his laziness appears to result from Gravity Falls’ meager crime rate. He declares his love in the finale episode for Deputy Durland.
4. Deputy Durland
She is the deputy’s right-hand woman and fellow police officer. Because he cannot even read, he is considered stupid and infantile. Although he is described as a “diamond in the rough,” Sheriff Blubs seemed to find these traits endearing.
He and Sheriff Blubs enjoy making fun of their “duties,” dodging them in favor of having a good time. It is revealed in the “Blendin’s Game” end-credits scene that he had previously worked as a handyman at the Mystery Shack in 2002. Still, Stan angrily fired and substituted him with a 12-year-old Soos, owing to his instability and clumsiness.
3. Buddy “Bud” Gleeful
Li’l Gideon’s kind and considerate father is Buddy “Bud” Gleeful. Despite having an anxious wife and a cunning child, Bud consistently generates money, even going so far as to team up with Grunkle Stan for a business venture.
Bud not only works at Li’l Gideon’s “Tent of Telepathy,” but he also sells pre-owned vehicles. In the past, in the episode “Blendin’s Game,” he was seen pushing a pram with Gideon inside it. He was also a member of the Society of the Blind Eye.
In the episode “The Manchurian Candidate,” Li’l Gideon primarily forces him to run for mayor of Gravity Falls to get him out of jail. This effort falls short.
2. Preston And Priscilla
The rich and ostensibly snooty parents of Pacifica Northwest are Preston and Priscilla. Most of the time, Preston puts a lot of pressure on Pacifica to keep their family’s image of perfection ideal. Preston had the unfortunate circumstance of becoming Bill’s first victim in Gravity Falls in “Weirdmageddon Part 1.”
When Preston tries to pass for one of Bill’s henchmen, Bill changes Preston’s facial features. In Part 3, it is revealed that Bill’s goons frightened Preston and Priscilla, but they were later made human again.
When Fiddleford McGucket purchases their mansion at the end of the series, they are compelled to sell it to recoup their losses after going bankrupt because Preston gives Bill all of his money.
1. Tobias “Toby” Determined
A journalist for the Gravity Falls Gossiper, Tobias “Toby” Determined, appears to be the only staff member. He is portrayed as a tough-talking but a weak journalist who is horrible at his profession. In one episode, for instance, he attempted to utilize a cinder block and a turkey baster as microphones and cameras.
