Set in South Korea in the 1930s, a Japanese heiress hires a young woman as a Handmaiden. However, the handmaiden is not the simple girl she seems as she plots with a pickpocket disguised as a Japanese Count. The Count was to seduce the young heiress, run away, rob her of her wealth, and lock her up in a madhouse.
However, though the evil plan seems to work accordingly, the heiress and the handmaiden, the lead characters, develop unexpected emotions. How will the story unfold, and what is at stake?
