The film, released in 2021, was directed by Jared Bush, Byron Howard, and Charise Castro Smith. The story surrounds the Madrigals, a family of extraordinary people with extraordinary powers, except one called Mirabel, who did not receive the gift of magic. Still, she sees Casita’s destruction and will save him.
They live in Encanto, after which the movie is named. Everyone in that magical madrigals family uses the power they receive at the age of 5 as a gift to help and support the rural community of the place.
