The approaching American Netflix horror-drama series, The Sandman, has been inspired by the DC Comics published comic series by Neil Gaiman (The Good Omen, Stardust) in the same name. The superhero drama has been developed into series by Allan Heinberg. Neil Gaiman and David S. Goyer join him as the executive producers of the show. Warner Bros. Television and DC Entertainment are the production companies involved in its making.
After a wait of so long, Netflix finally took charge to produce the adaptation of The Sandman in June of 2019. The initial teaser trailer for The Sandman was telecasted on September 25, this year, by Tom Sturridge and Neil Gaiman as a part of the TUDUM event by Netflix. The posters of the characters were also uncovered on the same day on Netflix Geeked. Neil Gaiman also confirmed that the series would comprise of 11 episodes.
The story revolves around Morpheus, famous by the name- Dream, the sandman. Being one of the seven Endless apart from Death, Destruction, Destiny, Desire, Delirium and Despair and the king of dreams, he gets trapped in the occult. Still, he recently sets free to rebuild his realm, The Dreaming, and seek revenge from those who captured him.

When is The Sandman Expected to Release?

Although the production was scheduled to kick start in mid of 2020 pandemic halted the process, and it was actually done within 2020 October till 2021 August. Netflix’s virtual event, TUDUM, showed the posters for the series, but no mention of the release date was there. Also, no official information is out from the makers as to when the avid fans will be able to enjoy the superhero series.
But going by the fact that filming was wrapped up in August this year, it can be presumed that the show might be available before the year-end or likely in 2022. However, these are mere predictions, and the actual release date has to be awaited to be sure.
