“Crikey! Ain’t there a decent movie on Netflix these days?!” Try saying it with an accent, and no, I don’t know how Aussies talk (most of my knowledge of Australia comes from an Australian baker on YouTube). But we’ll have that discussion for some other day. Let’s get back to the pretend quote I inserted in the beginning, Netflix movies. As the second wave of COVID-19 is inching closer, we’re all looking beforehand for a distraction to get us through this time. And how can Netflix not be one? So here is a list of the 15 best movies I found on Netflix Australia.
1. The Witch (2015)

Starring Anya Taylor Joy as a teen in a well-to-do family, this movie sets its timeline in 17th century New England, where the family moves into a farm distant from the city hustle, where no other families live. Soon things start happening to them, only for them to realize later that this may be a cast-off evil. This movie is said to have connections with the infamous Salem Witch Trials. This movie is for a rainy day when you’re feeling especially spooky.
2. The Big Short (2015)

This is a comedy movie starring actors of color. The plot revolves around the 2008 financial crisis that happened around the globe. This movie balances satirical comedy and a good plot perfectly. 3. Boogie Nights (1997)
